Visual Storytelling for Research Impact: UX Research Models & Frameworks

Visuals are processed 60,000 times faster in the brain than text and can increase recall by up to 65%. So then, why are UX research reports often so text-heavy? One of the hardest parts to navigate when conducting UX research is ensuring that research has an impact and is translated successfully into product strategy and design. A powerful tool to ensure this impact is in how the research is shared—ideally in a digestible and memorable way. While the default is often to create text-heavy findings when stakeholders have limited time to read research reports, leveraging visual models and communication design can aid in understanding the insights uncovered. Most applicable to strategic and generative research projects, this talk encourages moving beyond the traditional research report and exploring the power of visual models and frameworks to make findings stick.
